As a child in the late 1980s, my aunt video taped several episodes of Wonderful World of Disney for me and my siblings. The episodes she sent us were all of animated shorts. Most of them were special holiday episodes with themes, i.e. love themes for Valentine's day or the mothering clips for Mother's Day. This was one of my favorite shorts to watch. I also loved the litterbug one. At some point over the years we lost the tape, and now I am looking to get back copies of some of those old shorts I loved.

Goofy hasn't seem to have starred in any cartoons since 1953 before this cartoon. While I really don't find this cartoon all that great, it is still watchable. While watching this cartoon, viewers may notice that the foreground objects, drawn on cels, do not seem as nicely done as they were in the past. By this time, a new process for transferring drawings to cels had been developed. It was called Xeroxing ( which began at the Disney studio with the feature film "101 Dalmatians"). I feel that this makes the drawings look so poorly animated, but seeing as the major animation studios' budgets were beginning to shrink, they had to come up with cheaper methods. This cartoon would be Goofy's last "normal" cartoon as he would later star in educational shorts.

I believe this is the first cartoon to use the Xerox process developed by Ub Iwerks.

In this short Goofy goes "Aquamania" and takes his son boating. I enjoyed the scene where he has a run in with an octopus.

Goofy has to be my favorite Disney character. I wonder why in this cartoon Goofy went by the name of "Mr. X." This is the last cartoon to feature Goofy Junior. In "Goof Troop," Goofy won't have a wife and his son, Max will look like him a little.
