Reviews and Comments

From Lee Suggs :

This short was part of the package film- "Melody Time". It has immense energy and a highly surrealistic animation style. I remember my son, when he was not yet two, yelling "Go Bee" over and over when he first saw this short. It is a very flashy short, but not one I like to view too often. I think it is a good example of style over substance. Bumble Boogie is exciting, and technically interesting, but lacks any emotion weight. Still my son really likes it. I think it's because he never stops moving, just like that bee.

From Danny :

This is a masterful animation of a very difficult piano piece. I saw this at four years old over and over on DTV and the short inspired me to buy the sheet music and give it a try. Now, at 17, I can play it with authority. I owe it all to the cartoon.

From Gay West :

Bumble Boogie is one of my all-time favorite cartoons. I love the music and think the characterization to the rhythm is awesome. I would give much to be able to play the piano like that. It's great.

From FVR :

This short cartoon is a trip through a nightmare from a bee's point of view; however, anyone could relate. If you are a musician, of any flavor, you will find the music of Jack Fina and artistic style of using musical notes as 'demons'; simply spectacular. Arguably one of the best short cartoons ever created!

From Ann :

I give Bumble Boogie a 10. I first saw it when I was 10 years old and loved the music and animation. Now, I'm 17 and have been taking piano lessons for two years, and would love to learn how to play the song. It will surely take a while, but I can't wait till I can play it effortlessly. Thanks Disney for the great cartoon on a great video.
