- This cartoon is a reissue of an earlier Pink Panther short, "Rocky Pink", with new animation spliced in.
- According to a William Hohauser interview, Art Leonardi was not consulted on this remake of his own cartoon, "Rocky Pink". Leonardi was directing the animated title sequence for the 1978 Blake Edwards film, "Revenge of the Pink Panther". "Pet Pink Pebbles" was made without Leonardi's involvement to the point he didn't know this film existed until finding it on a DVD collection decades later. In his own recollections during the interview, Art Leonardi was not happy with the changes director Gerry Chiniquy made and felt the new animation removed the cuteness of his original film and was a total distraction.
