Now, this is what we remember about Von Drake. Not an inventor, but just a professor using applied knowledge on his subjects; in this case, Donald, who could certainly use a bit of stress management. Von Drake takes Donald through various methods of dealing with his stress, none of which seem to work too well. The short wasn't outrageously funny, although it did have it's good bits here and there (my favorite being the "origami massage.") And I thought the short was going to veer into the "invention land" again at the end, but they seemed to handle it nicely and not let the invention take over the short as has happened before. It was nice to see Willie the Whale make a short cameo as well; more and more of these peripheral characters seem to keep creeping in, and you have to keep on your toes to catch them. A nice, "relaxing" short.

Relaxing With Von Drake: This is on of Ludwig Von Drake's full length lectures (on relaxation) and the client/victim is Donald Duck. Funny, I didn't seem at all relaxed looking at it but the closing gag was funny.

Make Mine Music Reference! However, somehow I don't think that Willie doing his demo tapes while you're listening in through a stethoscope does
not
constitute as relaxing sounds. Nevertheless, the short
was
relaxing, if only for the viewers.

I don't like the Von Drake character, but I have to admit this is a clever short. It makes great use of sight gags (Whale Songs with Willie the Whale who Wanted to Sing at the Met, origami Donald, and several others) and the premise is quite amusing. That being said I only found this short slightly amusing, and that was because of the sight gags, and the excellent ending. I just can't get over my distaste for the Von Drake character.
