Synopsis

A young lamb named Chirin, who has a bell tied around his neck in order that his mother can find him, seeks revenge on a wolf who has killed his mother, eventually training under the wolf and growing up to become a fierce creature; together, they become killers feared across the land. When the wolf brings Chirin back to the farm where he grew up in order to kill the sheep, however, the sight of a mother protecting her young lamb reminds him of his own past, and accordingly he kills the wolf. The sheep, while recognizing the bell that has remained on his neck all these years, are nevertheless unable to believe that the creature before them had lived with them in the past, and lock Chirin out of the farm. Returning to the mountains that had been the wolf's abode, Chirin, no longer knowing what to do, cries out for the wolf that had been his father figure as a blizzard begins.
