Milestones
- While this was the third produced episode for Season 2, it instead aired as the season premiere. According to the audio commentary, it was decided instead to make this the season premiere when The Simpsons got moved from a Sunday night to a Thursday night at 8:00pm timeslot. This move by Fox was done to compete with the Cosby Show and the staff felt having a Bart episode premiere would be good for publicity.
