In a weird move by Warner, they'll be releasing The Stars of Space Jam series on DVD October 9th (my birthday!) Each volume will have 6 shorts (2 shorts less than the VHS releases had and 2 releases have a different short than the one on their VHS counterpart) but a selection are still new to DVD. To save you time, here's a list of the new to DVD shorts that spreaded across -Hot Cross Bunny -Hare Spliter -Zip 'N Snort -Hot-Rod and Reel! -Boston Quackie -Tree Cornered Tweety -Tweet Zoo And shorts from the first Super Stars volumes that will probably be in original full screen forn the first time: -Apes of Wrath -Person to Bunny No word unfortunately if the new-to-DVD shorts will have restored and remastered transfers, but they are advertised as uncut. Again, weird move for Warner, but hey, it's a nice gesture of them. Bugs Bunny https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRMD8ZL/Road Runner and Wile E. This...is a very weird move, to say the least. I sense that this may be a promotional item for Space Jam 2, assuming it's still in production. I have a bad feeling that, for the shorts that are new to DVD, that we'll be getting unrestored transfers. Also, really? Six shorts per disc? Edited by user Thursday, August 23, 2018 12:35:52 PM(UTC)

That's weird. Hope they aren't lazy transfers of the VHS releases (I won't be surprised if they were, though).

Weird move, but hey, at least we're getting some new-to-DVD cartoons! Not a fan of this movie, I will admit, but I'll most likely buy four of the five sets here (the five shorts on the Taz disc are already available elsewhere, most notably on the Platinum Collection) sometime..... By the way, did anyone notice that with these and the Celebrating Mickey Blu-ray, we're getting a resurgence of some sort regarding classic animation on home video? Actually, it was six shorts counting "The Fright Before Christmas" segment from the 1979 Christmas special which is included on the 5th Golden Collection DVD set.

We got some tidbits on the Bugs and Daffy discs: https://www.facebook.com...malink/1234900129993152/The good news, Apes of Wrath and People to Bunny are the restored transfers in original full screen for the first time on DVD! The bad news, so far the new-to-DVD shorts are old masters (Boston Quackie is a time-compressed/PAL master)

How come "Barbary-Coast Bunny" and "Holiday for Drumsticks" are not included on the DVD versions of this series? Is it because of the gun usage in those shorts? Edited by user Wednesday, October 10, 2018 10:39:43 AM(UTC)

While I'm glad to hear that two cartoons are no longer cropped, I honestly don't see myself shelling out the cash just to buy DVDs with maybe one or two new-to-DVD cartoons per disc (and a botched PAL-to-NTSC speedup transfer, it seems). Edited by user Thursday, October 11, 2018 3:16:21 AM(UTC)
