I'm currently watching the Treasure that came in the mail for me today - Walt Disney on the Front Lines. To put it bluntly, this is one of the greatest home videos, whether it be VHS or DVD, that I've been able to collect. Actually watching wartime/propaganda films that I've read about, but never got a chance to check out, is one of the best things about being a hardcore Disney fan.

Momotaro: Sacred Sailors/Spider and Tulip (Anime Limited UK edition, Region B locked) Discs appear to be a straight port of the US Funimation edition, except for the region-locking, they start up with only the Shochiku and Funimation logos. Making up for the lack of on-disc extras, there's a great 127-page book on the film and its director Mitsuyo Seo included which seems exclusive to the UK edition. Couldn't help but laugh when the restoration credits give "special thanks" to the Hearst Corporation for clearing this unauthorised cameo: Edited by user Friday, April 6, 2018 11:35:46 AM(UTC)

So another Treasure came in the mail for me today. This time, it was Disney Rarities.
Granted, I've heard that the picture quality on this one is s****y, but at the same time the contents on this set are beyond compare. Unfortunately, the one that arrived in the mail had no tin......but it did have the paper card meant to go on the back of it, which I threw out when realizing there wasn't anything for it to stick to.

More than a week ago, I received an eBay gift card, and when I used it on Sunday, one of the two things I settled on buying with it was the first volume of The Complete Pluto.
I'm not really a big Pluto fan (he's my least favorite out of the Disney "fabulous five"...), and I'm not pleased that they decided to split his Treasures set in half as opposed to pulling a Goofy and releasing all his cartoons on one DVD, but at the same time I also wanted to build my Treasures collection up a bit further.

I just picked up VHS copies of Melody Time, The Black Cauldron, and The Magic Voyage. Too bad the copy of Melody Time (Masterpiece Collection) already had Bill's cigarette editd out. Damn censorship

I recently got Shrek 2 on Blu-ray (I also own a pan-and-scan DVD). I initially wanted it digitally, but Target was selling it on BD (with a Movies Anywhere code) for only $10.

I just bought the Invader Zim Vol 1-3 DVDs off eBay for $20. It has the complete series episodes (and the pilot) as well as commentary tracks on six pressed discs. I was almost gonna get the DVD-R sets they sell on Amazon until I checked eBay real quick. Can't wait to wait all of Zim!! |

I sure treated myself lately! I able to get the "4 for $1" deal from the Disney Movie Club a few days back (in addition to some bonus films). I got the exclusive "Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeroes" Blu-ray set, in addition to Nightmare Before Christmas, Moana, Alice in Wonderland, Zootopia, and Coco. I'm doubtful they will be arriving anytime soon....but I have 'em at least...kinda
For Halloween I bought myself the non-DVD-R Halloween Tree disc, Monster House 3D, and a few live action films. |

Finally got Celebrating Mickey - the first animation Blu-ray in my collection.
It has nothing else aside from just the shorts and has crappy front cover art, but the bulk of what I have watched of it is an improvement - even if only a small one - over the countless SD transfers and uploads of these shorts that we've been watching for decades (yes, even the Treasures remastered versions).
