As exciting as this news is, I'll wait until more information is revealed about the set before deciding to buy it, due to...rocky circumstances.

If it's because the set might not have two PC cartoons (especially because of recent circumstances), Jerry did said the series wasn't called "The Complete Tex Avery" and may not be complete. Please don't be shocked and upset if this is the case (I'm looking at a certain podcaster).

Actually, my concerns were due to the restoration issues with volume 2. I should have been more clear, but I figured with that being the most focal point of the last set, that would have been more obvious.

I would appreciate a set featuring said controversial cartoons, although given Warner's cold feet in regards to that sort of content, the omission is understandable.

Over at blu-Ray.com there’s a picture of Jerry holding the Vol 3 disc and case. Anyone here able to make out the list of shorts on the back of the case?

There should be at least 25 cartoons jammed on it. Another option is they might do a volume four (including the other Droopy cartoons or maybe his work for Lantz (?)). I'm very curious to see how they'll approach this.

Is "Thad" too long a name for you to type?

Warner Bros. does not own the cartoons he did for Lantz, so that's out of the question. Though, I do see the other Droopy cartoons being in the realm of possibility--perhaps as bonus features.
Cheers,
Derek.

I was trying to be anonymous and please stop picking on me. Moving on.

Complete or not (un-PC shorts may be absent), vol. 3 will certainly feature some of the wildest animation ever made. I like the remaining Avery shorts more than the overall selection from vol. 1 despite vol. 1 having some of the greatest (Red Hot Riding Hood, Dumb Hounded, Bad Luck Blackie...).

This time I'll stay away from reviews, to not be distracted when actually watching the cartoons - my experience in vol. 2 could have been much better if I weren't distracted trying to spot photoshopped titles and DVNR. However Thad's and others' reviews and feedback/criticism are entirely necessary because the distributor is a multi-billion dollar company. I guess reviewers should be more forgiving if the cartoons were being remastered by enthusiasts within a tight budget, but coming from Warner, excellent is the minimum we should demand. They could simply put out non-profitable releases if they wanted to, and that would be one less drop of water from their sea of revenue.
I always come to TTTP in Exile in the hope of finding news about Warner announcing Tex Avery Collection.

If that's your wish, maybe you in return could stop constantly picking on that "anonymous podcaster", aka Thad?

Nic, you have made your distaste for Thad’s behavior clear many times in the past. Bringing him up in this context wasn’t necessary. Any further unnecessary quibbling regarding podcasters will result in a warning and, if it continues, a suspension.

You may now resume your regularly scheduled hype/skepticism. Thank you.

Some notes I picked up on Facebook:

Swing Shift Cinderella is on the set (which I'm sure as expected)

George had "properly set it up before leaving. But now he's back!" Which means Volume 3 entered mainline production before he stepped down briefly (a good sign)

A documentary was produced for the Blu ray by Constantine Nasr but will not be on the set

A few things I could see on the back cover:

Blitz Wolf is the first cartoon listed

There will be bonus features, though I couldn't read what they were

Hope this assures people it will be better then last time. I was told the staff from V1 did indeed work on this one too, but I have no idea if the restorations on MeTV will be redone on the set, hoping they do

Wasn’t all of the Avery cartoons for Lantz on the spread out on the 2 volumes of WOODY WOODPECKER DVDs? Can not pre- order on Amazon.com yet? Of course, if this set is kinda screwed up based on reviews than I will cancel it.

No, they're all on the first volume from 2007.

Yeah. Though, we might as well link to Jerry Beck's original Facebook post. His page is public after all.

Judging by the cover art, we all know with 100% certainty that "Northwest Hounded Police" should be on this volume. I would expect a full press release with a list of shorts this coming week.

How about the short, WHAT PRICE FLEADOM?, being on it? I don’t think I ever saw that cartoon uncut on local or cable tv.
