I'm adding a new function to the database: the ability to request screenshots. It occurred to me that instead of just doing whatever screenshots I found at random, that users should be able to request ones that they wanted to see. It's still in the beta stage right now, but there will be a few rules:

1: It has to be a cartoon that we currently have in the IAD Archives (which we are adding about 10 to 20 items a day) or in my own collection.

2: You may only request 5 sets at a time. Once we post one of your requests, you may request another.

3: Only logged in members will be able to request screenshots. You also may not request sets that you yourself have already submitted.

4: Although we will try to get to them as soon as possible, this will be done as we have the time. Any annoying emails or messages asking us to get to them sooner will be ignored. Persistent annoyance will result in requests being deleted and possible banning from the board.

There should be a button now on any that are currently available. I've just added the ones in the archive so far, but I'll attach the ones in my own collection hopefully this afternoon.

I don't think one should be able to request screenshots that are already claimed and submitted unless there's a serious issue with them (i.e., higher-quality print available).

If you request screenshots, you wouldn't be asking for a redo of sets that have already been submitted. Rather, you would let me know that you'd like to see that set sooner than later. And at this point I have sets that we may not get posted until next year! (Yes, I have that many backlogged.) The only thing I won't allow is requesting a set that you've submitted yourself as a way of getting yours up faster.

I have also set up a page where you can see what screenshots you've requested and their status. I usually only queue sets week, maybe two in advance, so if it's says that it's queued, then it won't be long before you can see them. Ideally I'd like to set it up so you would get an email notification once a set you've requested has been posted.

I also tried setting up the email thing but I'm not sure if it worked, so if anyone got a notification that your request was posted, please forward it back to me.

Actually it doesn't since that link only shows the requested shots from the currently logged in user. For you, it shows what screenshots you've requested, but for me, it shows nothing since I haven't requested any, But never fear ... I have another link that shows me all currently requested screenshots.

After you login, go to pages that have no pictures and the "Added to IAD Archives" button. There, underneath is a "Request screenshots" button which you can click. Remember, you can only request five titles at a time and it's best to request just one (although my last requests were two, but only because this was a two-part story).

That’s because I don’t currently have them in my collection.

Just a quick note: I'm going to be cancelling any requests for screenshot sets of full-length features for the time being. While I would love to be able to do them, they usually take around two hours each and I just don't have that much time right now. We will be continuing the program for standard length cartoons or TV shows (up to an hour in length), however. Thanks!

I'm just afraid you might have misplaced them.

I'm sure eutychus has his own way of keeping track of what screenshots he's received. I don't remember any problems ever popping up for me, so either they're extremely rare or haven't happened at all.
