So this short was INDEED released in Cinemascope, unlike what we all initially thought that the Spotlight Collection DVD released a "fake" widescreen version? Just WOW!
I wonder then how Turner couldn't find the Cinemascope print at all, unlike for all the other 1954-1955 widescreen shorts.

It's widely known that "Pup on a Picnic" was one of the four T&J shorts to be released both in Academy ratio and Cinemascope back in 1955. (Ideally, a perfect DVD/Blu-ay edition should include BOTH ratio versions of these four shorts... but that's probably dreaming by this point.)
What we don't know is why Warner cropped the Cinemascope print of this particular film to 16:9 for the Spotlight Collection release. Seems like a pure mistake, considering all the other shorts are in full Cinemascope. But clearly, they RESTORED it in the full Scope ratio, just like they did with all the widescreen shorts.
