Mister Bighead

Fan sites about cartoons have been on the web ever since the mid-'90s. There were big in the '90s and early 2000s, but I don't see them pop up anymore. These fan sites typically contain information about the cartoon, episode guides, character biographies, lots and lots of graphics, and links to related websites. What fascinates me about them is - depending on the sites - they are either good sources of animation-related information and history or just a lot of fun.

It was interesting seeing the old Cartoon Network schedule. The CN originals aired mainly during primetime making room for more of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons. They also aired Silver-Age WB cartoons including Animaniacs, Batman, and Taz-Mania; third-party cartoons including Rocky & Bullwinkle, Underdog, Pink Panther, and Gumby; and anime including Sailor Moon, Speed Racer, and Dragon Ball Z. I was impressed with the variety of programming. My, how times have changed!

So if you come across an interesting fansite related to "classic" animation, feel free to post it here.
