The Redford Cinetopia showing only included one Oswald short, Great Guns. I was hoping Maltin was mistaken when he announced the lineup. He later related an ironic story about how he attended a cartoon festival in his youth boasting 25 various shorts which only consisted of 18 Tom and Jerry's. No explanation of the discrepancy was made as to why the actual program didn't match the Cinetopia website in content or order. Other than that and the severely spliced Hold That Pose, the prints looked good.

So how were the prints of "Fantasia" and "Lady and the Tramp"?

Word was Fantasia had looked great. I didn't go because I dislike the experience of Fantasia as a whole (also, limited energy). I figure I saw Fantasia 200 in the theater, so that's good enough. For similar reasons I didn't go to Lady and the Tramp (saw that in theatrical re-release when I was 8, but not going had more to do with limited energy to go around than dislike); as it hadn't screened yet, not much feedback on how it llooked. Turns out there was also Tyrus (a documentary on a Disney animator, still alive at 105), a showing of Bambi (although I'm not sure that was a film print), and (slide show?) of (Disney animation drawings?) at the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor as part of Cinetopia as well.
