Sniffles for me too. I find him both boring and annoying to watch and listen to.

(I like the Tasmanian Devil)

This probably won't count but, I say "The Looney Tune Show" of Lola. Honestly, I say they should just give up on the character. She's no Babs Bunny.

Though I said I mostly hate almost all the Bill Hendrics/W7 era Looney Tunes characters made by Alex Lovy, I will have to say my least favorite Looney Tunes character I hate with a passion is Merlin the Magic Mouse. His cartoons are boring and un-funny.

I tend to completely forget the non-classic era WB cartoons. The 60s and later versions of characters don't even come to mind. I know I've seen a Merlin the Magic Mouse cartoon, but all I remember is that the action took place on a stage – must've been really memorable! Another cartoon I remember seeing was Bunny and Clyde – I probably only remember that one cos it seemed in such delightful bad taste to base a whole cartoon around a 'cute' pun on the names of a couple of murderers! The modern takes on Looney Tunes haven't interested me much either so I don't have an opinion on Lola Bunny.

...So, for me, Sniffles is the worst Looney Tunes character that I can actually remember properly!

My first exposure to Merlin the Magic Mouse (and Cool Cat) was 1970's digest reprints of the Gold Key (and Dell) Looney Tunes comic books. I didn't see their original cartoons until they aired on Nickelodeon.

Those 1970's comic digests were also my first exposure to Sniffles. So when I first saw one of his original cartoons. probably on WCIX from Miami in the late 1970's, my natural response was "Where's Mary Jane?".

I'm not surprised you haven't seen all the Merlin cartoons since he IS an obscured Looney Tunes character along with the other W7 characters. Merlin only appeared in 5 cartoons from 1967-1969:

  • Merlin the Magic Mouse (1967, Alex Lovy)
  • Hocus Pocus Powwow (1968, Alex Lovy)
  • Feud with a Dude (1968, Alex Lovy)
  • Fistic Mystic (1969, Robert McKimson)
  • Shamrock and Roll (1969, Robert McKimson)

I will admit, Daws Butler did a decent job at both Merlin and Second Banana and the animation looked more Hanna-Barbera-ish, but the rest were crap. I didn't like how Larry Storch voiced Merlin and Second Banana and the animation was a horrible mix of Jay Ward, Total Television, and Filmation (McKimson's Merlin cartoons had improved animation, but the cartoons were still the same as Lovy's cartoons).
