Does anyone know where I could find the redrawn version of the LT short "The Village Smithy" with that blood red background in the opening and closings? I remember reading somewhere the WB zoom was replaced with a camera focusing itself. I think there was also other shorts with the WB shield intact instead of being completely removed or replaced by the Sunset Productions logo.

These are some of the only images I could find.

I know it did air the way you describe because I saw it that way. Back in 1987, WGN had a couple of two-hour cartoon blocks on Thanksgiving and the Friday after. One was Bugs Bunny and friends and the other was Pink Panther and friends. That version of "The Village Smithy" was shown and I actually had taped it but I'm 99.9% sure I taped over it many years ago. I know Sunset appears on several shorts as issued on public domain DVDs but as far as I know, there was only one I saw like that "back in the day." The others have been re-edited by someone else later on. Maybe someone else can confirm this. When I first saw them, they had the WB shield and Looney Tunes intro visuals (and end title visuals) replaced with the picture portion of the Warner Bros./Seven Arts titles (with a blue background) from a late 1960s cartoon. The two Os in "cartoon" would jump up and down when Porky says "That's All, Folks!" I saw these in the 1970s. Later in the 1980s, they got a new set of prints with the shield from "Deduce You Say" with specific copyright info added on a black strip, and a 1950s "That's All Folks" cross-fading into a 1970s/1980s Warner Communications logo at the end.

You might want to check ebaY. I often see redrawn 16mm prints on there. I never bought one, though.

When I watched the redrawn Porkys on WCIX from Miami in the late 1970's, most of them had the Seven Arts opening and closing. But I remember that "Porky's Naughty Nephew" had Guild Films titles.
