People may of noticed Warner Archive rebranding to Warner Classics on social media. Thankfully, WAC is still functioning as strong as ever, and this is proof, hot off the press

Yes, it is happening.....
Warner Archive Collection will be releasing LOONEY TUNES COLLECTOR'S CHOICE VOLUME 4 on Blu-ray, with a street date of November 26th.
Details will follow, but we wanted to confirm the project is in production. A more formal announcement with the full list of animated short subjects to be included will follow soon. Thanks to the fans for your continued support of our efforts.

I honestly recommend V3 over V2; it has a more pleasing classic to dud ratio and the presentation is slightly better (though I do recommend V2 as well). On The Extras Podcast,   George Feltenstein mentions some interesting comments:

-V4's lineup is already finalized and is expected to be announced later this month

-V4's long announcement/release was due to ensuring the shipment of nitrate from the East Coast (Library of Congress has the nitrate negatives for the library bought by AAP). George's wording makes it sound like more than two cartoons will be newly restored

-Its still 25 cartoons that haven't been available restored on DVD or Blu-ray, with a selection of all decades

-More theatrical animation is planned for 2025, perhaps with more Warner discs and other series (misc. MGM?). George also mentions the heat being turned up on the TV animation, which can be seen now with at least one release on some HB each month. I assume we can expect this to stay the same, but I personally hope its material I'd actually want to buy

Imho, these are almost all the titles I would've prioritized by this point. The two bonus cartoons and their purpose is clever, and I actually think its a little better than V3 with some of the character shorts. Day one for me!

This is looking to be a spectacular release that's better than V3. (I still prefer V1 since the cartoons there were ones that wouldn't be underrated if they were released sooner).

Honestly, I can't really tell the difference between the content of any of the volumes. I'm just glad we got a fourth volume.

There's some interesting notes I could make about all four in terms of curation and balance, but I'll leave it simple. This isn't a criticism in anyway, just an observation as I do like every volume thus far and hope the series keeps going.

V1: This is the equivalent as an All-Stars disc during the GC days, with great shorts from all of the Top Stars, even the "not as good" cartoons feel good and fit in because the disc is not oversaturated by any particular series

V2: I like this Volume and it has a lot of cartoons I like, but I felt it was a little too one-off/misc. centric which is why I think there were some people not as excited, and because the hit to dud ratio wasn't as well balanced. Regardless, this one contains a lot of the studio history and has a lot of great examples of where exactly the directors were learning (FIN N CITTY, HISS AND MAKE UP, CROSS COUNTRY DETOURS). Perhaps the biggest oddity was GHOST WANTED, a short I don't think anyone would've prioritized, but looks nice regardless

V3: Adding the more familiar Egghead/Elmer, plus the Sam and Ralph cartoons, this disc improves the hit/dud ratio from V2 as well as not feeling as one off centric (SHEEPISH WOLF works well with a legitimate Sam and Ralph back to back). Also has a lot of the studio's history and the two all new remasters were great all star choices.

V4: I also would say automatically this is an improvement because of the bonuses and now having three all new remasters, but beyond that, the character shorts are very well chosen and the misc. still feels like the hit to dud ratio is just right like on V3. Perhaps not as history strong as V3, but lots of favorites and will please all fans

I could go into more detail, cartoon by cartoon, but that's not too appropriate. Just buy them all!
