Recently I saw a comment from Jerry on FB. He noted that Popeye is not being worked on right now on, but he knows when it will be next. It appears something else is coming first. This likely limits it down to:

Something MGM related (I recall Jerry saying "Technicolor doesn't end here" in the episode of "The Extras" he and George were both on)

"Technicolor Doesn't End Here" is a reference to Lucky Ducky, so that just might possibly mean he's talking about a Volume 4.

1950s Popeye is the safest guess.

Or... Barney Bear, Happy Harmonies...

Or... Tex Avery Screwball Classics volume 4 featuring his Warner Bros. one-shots; of course not featuring the most un-PC ones.

The thought occurred they might release Lucky Ducky with it's original opening and ending considering they exist. Honestly, if the materials weren't accessible, I would not be surprised if that was also apart of the reason it was not included on V3. Call me crazy of course, but it just might be that. I know I'm getting to be a bit of a fanatic on this stuff but I really am curious what's next since it seems unlikely what most think is coming is not (50s Popeye)

Far as those MGM cartoons goes that have altered titles or animations, it would actually be nice to have both versions of the shorts if the elements still exist. It would be make for interesting comparisons.
Considering that the MGM theatrical cartoon library on the whole is around 310 cartoons (Not counting Gene Deitch or Chuck Jones). Where 114 of which are Tom and Jerry's and Tex Averys are ca 65 (60 which that are on the blu-rays) that leaves us with ca 130 cartoons that are Happy Harmonies, Barney Bear, non-Avery Droopies, Captain and the Kids, etc.... It wouldn't take too many Blu-rays to complete if they want release them maybe 7 (depending on number of shorts each disc) not counting that mentioned 4th Tex Avery volume.

Maybe a fourth Tex Avery volume with most (if not all) the remaining MGM shorts and some Warner shorts.

TCM uses the old Turner Broadcasting prints (with the AAP opens) due to a long running feud between the folks in Atlanta and the Warner home office. Warner Archive Collection (of which I was a part of) restored the 1940s Popeye cartoons for blu ray (and those are being shown on MeTV now). Warners has the original negatives and film elements for the 1950s but due to Covid shut downs - and now the Warner/Discovery merger - work on restoring those has halted for the time being. Today’s younger fans seem to think the AAP titles are “rare earlier versions” and should be preserved. As a historian, I can somewhat understand that… but it makes me laugh that a company that only existed for two years (AAP) STILL has its name on cartoons being run on television in 2020.

So Popeye 1950s is definately not the WAC title that will be announced this year.

Still hoping and thinking it's more (WB) Avery shorts or other MGM series. Superman would be a good guess as well, but maybe they're leaving those to the other preservation team, doing the Fleischer cartoons. No idea how that works when WB owns the Superman cartoons. I've seen the Fleischer family post about restoring Superman as well.

All the Fleischer/Famous Superman cartoons are in the PD so anything goes.

Heck, even Paramount can release them!

That doesn't make any sense. WB and Discovery have been merged for months, and COVID lockdowns haven't been a thing for even longer.

I'm pretty sure there's mainly red tape involved. Plus, there's also been some worry about Warner Archive being shut down due to the company's new management (fortuantly, it hasn't happen so far).
