Here we go again - summer time from the King of All Things Cartoons! Here's the description:

"Jerry's annual summer visit will feature his review of "Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers" (Disney+), along with a look at upcoming theatrical releases - Disney's new "Pinocchio" with Tom Hanks, Rob Zombie's "The Munsters", and the horror film, "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" (now that the character has gone into the public domain, he's fair game). Speaking of PD, we'll have a discussion on how "Steamboat Willie" and other classic works will now belong to the public to use free and clear...and whether that's a good thing. We'll also have a Puppetoon update from producer Arnold Liebovit, plus Jerry will also showcase the latest in print media, he'll provide a look back at this year's Comic Con, whether we can expect anything new via home video, and we'll three classic cartoons from his archives. Then we'll read your e-mails (and we'll need those by August 5)."

I feel deprived of hearing a rant about King Tweety. Really hope its brought up just to hear Stu talk about it

With the news about HBO Max, I feel like much of the discussion is going to revolve around that.

For years, every time he's come on, he's been saying streaming is the future.

Well, now the studios are scaling back on streaming and embracing "old" ways of making money on content because streaming just isn't turning the profits it was hyped to.

We can only hope that helps George and the Warner Archive. George says the WAC is profitable, and there's zero Discovery overlap.

Here's the link to watch tonight's show, which was recorded over the weekend (promos are running right now until the show begins at 4pm PT/7pm ET). It lasts almost 4 hours and while the VIPs already know what was discussed, the general public hasn't seen it yet. Speaking of Stu's Show, it will return next season but with some changes (however Jerry will still return for next season that's for sure).

Okay the big change for next season is that there will be one guest per month and Jerry Beck gets the whole month of March - the reason why Stu is doing it is because the preparation it takes to do a show is a lot of hard work and it's exhausting for him, so he needs some free time. So basically Stu is splitting the shows up into two parts - first part 2 hours or however long the first part is, and then second part will be until conclusion. The VIPs will actually get both halves and Stu will shoot one whole show for one weekend per month. There's still a lot of unanswered questions including if the e-mails will be read in both halves or just the second half only (but Stu takes e-mails the last part of the show anyway), among other things.

That has to hurt on Arnold having to start things over again after already beginning new content. It's quite rare but at least they're going to show the content that has been restored.

Sorry folks, I lost power during the show so I missed most of the important things like home video, reviews on movies, etc. - it will be available in the archives shortly after this show is over.

But I guess we're in the e-mail segment now.

The best show in a long while. A lot of the recent repetitive nature was missing. Intelligent questions too (my favorite was the re-trademarking characters). Cartoons shown were Bray's TAIL OF THE MONKEY, Cubby Bear in INDIAN WHOOPEE, and MARVIN DIGGS by Paramount. It seems WAC is being spared by Discovery, and that Jerry hopes news will be available for the next WAC set in December, and that steps are slightly forward in it. In the meantime, Flip the Frog really almost is completed, and Jerry is confident in it being out before Christmas(!)

Another interesting question was about seeing a lot of Fleischer scans, I presume from Anthony White's Fleischer Group on FB, where he's posted beautiful 4K scans off his own 28mm prints of early Bray Fleischer cartoons. I can't wait for CartoonsOnFilm to put them out, as hopefully the first Inkwell set (of many) should be coming soon!

That depends on how many emails are sent in prior to the taping on the show. If so, they might split the number of emails being read and answeared. Otherwise, they might answer last minute questions sent in by the VIP audience during the second show.

When Batgirl was cancelled, it sent mass hysteria around. Because one movie and few other projects (scoob) were cancelled now everything was going to get cancelled. It seems that Zaslaw prefer the old way of how films should be consumed. So I would like to agree with Jerry and I think he 's correct that WHV and WAC are probably save. Jerry even mentioned merger form few years (decades?) back that was actually worse than the current merger.

As for what WAC are releasing in December if everything goes as Jerry hopes is anyone is guessing game. Since Jerry didn't hint at anything or mention anything on the show. But If I were to guess I personally think its ether Tex Avery Screwball Classics: Volume 4 or Popeye the Sailor: The 1950s, Volume 1. Since Warner Archive hasn't exactly done anything with LT/MM shorts bar that Porky 101 set and the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary set was released by WHV which used some of those resent HBO Max restorations. But there have been more shorts restored for HBO Max/WarnerMedia Ride/MeTV I don't have the exact numbers but it must be over hundreds of shorts at this point. So you got to wonder why more of these version haven't been used on home video unless they don't want upset the purists further than they already have.

I do not share Jerry's... I hesitate to say "optimism" but "wait and see" attitude about Zaslav. Starting off your reign by shelving two films that were basically complete does not leave a good first impression (to put it lightly). I understand why he wouldn't want to bash his new boss on the air, but yeah.

I cut out during the questions part - did anyone ask if there are any more HBO Max Looney Tunes restorations coming? I'm guessing not (I get the sinking feeling that what's currently up is all they're going to do), but just wanted to double check.

Well, supposed Zaslav thought audiences' reception of "Batgirl" would be like that of "Catwoman" (2004). Would it still be worth a release?
