I'll wait to see how Disney "fixes" the films' designs before considering a buy. Great news though as Make Mine Music is the only classic Disney animated film not on the +, but I forget what reason that would be

Before we jump up and down with joy on this, I would like to know if "Make Mine Music" will be complete with "The Martin and the Coys" sequences which was cut in the first video and DVD release as the studio was concern with the gun violence. This might also be the reason why it's not on Disney+ so far (which I find dumb as "The Simpsons" is on the service and that includes way more graphical gun violence on there).

When both films wer eon Disney Family Movies on Demand they were uncut.

So it's possible that'll be the case here.

Incidentally, as someone pointed out in another forum, this means the Disney Animated Film Canon is complete on Blu-ray!!!

I wish it was like that for Disney+ as well.

Haven't posted on here for some time (Discord's been my go-to place in regards to talking about classic animation with some of the members here for about a year), but I am pleased that both of these films are finally coming to Blu-ray! Would've preferred it if they were bundled together, but as Disney has kept the individual Gold Classic Collection DVDs in print for a long time, the way they're being sold makes a bit of sense.

Hoping that, with just about all of the (current) Disney Animated Canon titles out of the way, the DMC can issue classic shorts collections on BD next..

To cut 7 minutes from the movie nowadays, in a DMC release, is a stretch. People have reported a running time shown in the purchase that indicates the first segment will be present.

When DMC released The Black Cauldron back in April, Class316 (from blu-ray.com forum) and I had the same feeling about Make Mine Music: that if it ever got a blu-ray release, it wouldn't have the brief sexual content on All The Cats Join In.

My bet is it will feature the guns, but not the boobs.

Dare I say I saw a sneek peak, and it seems the boobs are indeed restored. The whole thing looks to be completely uncut.

Fox, out of curiosity, if you can say, does the color quality and grain look good on that sneak peek?

That makes sense. It was completely uncut the last time Disney did anything with it (their Disney Family Movies on Demand service in 2015).

I take it the disc has some kind of "Guns are bad" PSA to account for Martins and the Coys.

More details about these two are out on the DMC website (member-only, unfortunately)...and going off what I've been hearing, like with The Black Cauldron, the shorts that were on the films' Gold Classic Collection DVDs are included:
- Make Mine Music comes with The Band Concert (previously released on Blu-ray on Celebrating Mickey), Music Land (the early 2000s master was originally released on BD as part of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Beauty and the Beast Diamond Editions' "Hyperion Studios" and "Beyond Beauty" features), and Farmyard Symphony (new to BD)
- Melody Time comes with Donald Applecore, Lambert the Sheepish Lion, and Casey Bats Again...all of which are making their BD debuts (and the latter is making its debut on any format in restored form)

Fox, how did you get an advance copy for review and does it include all ten segments, contrary to the DMC's "official" summary?

Somehow it has leaked and has been shown to me some time ago. Like I said, the restoration that I saw was official and had no cuts or edits whatsoever.

Isn't it the restoration Disney had put in Disney Family Movie On Demand? That restoration was ripped from TV and spread by Jack Sparrow in two releases: one with more compression artifacts and glitches and other glitchless and with better picture quality.

We'll just have to wait and see if Make Mine Music truly is uncensored, though going by the 74 mins time limit, looks like all of the segments will be intact.

Censored or not censored, can anyone provide a few screenshots of the HD master? I wanna make sure before I consider a buy if it LOOKS good

The prints better look good, but considering Disney's "track record", I highly doubt it.
