I still don't understand why the low pitch problem exists for certain Looney Tunes shorts. Don't the people restoring the cartoons know what key the opening theme is in? That would be a dead giveaway that something is amiss when they play it back for quality control.

What was Wednesday's cartoon line-up? All I got from my local METV station today was darkness and the local ads mostly in the middle in my DVR recording.

MeTV website schedule function actually lets you go back in time although I am not sure how far. I didn't watch Wednesday but this is what was listed.

Musical Mountaineers, Bugs Bunny Gets The Boid, Busy Body Bear, Baby Buggy Bunny, Bugged By A Bee (1969)

"Betty Boop runs out of gas in a hillbilly town., Beakey Buzzard's mother sends him out on a mission to bring back a rabbit for their nest. He's in for trouble when he chooses Bugs as his target. , Barney Bear tries to help a beaver with his damn but the beaver doesn't want his help., The midget gangster, Baby Faced Finster dresses up as a baby to escape the police. To his dismay, he ends up in the hands of Bugs Bunny, who treats him as a baby. , A bee uses his stinger to push Cool Cat to his athletic limits in college. "

Somehow, Busybody Bear was replaced with the Tom and Jerry cartoon, The Bodyguard, despite the fact that two screenshots of Busybody Bear were posted on the Toon In with Me social media pages.

Just watched it from my DVR and the sound effects synced just fine from what I could tell. Must've just been you.

Minor correction: it's actually the second-most exposure she's gotten on the network. I forgot that they aired three of her cartoons on that first Saturday back in January (I'm counting 1933's Popeye the Sailor as one).

Really fun lineup today. The show has been knocking it out of the park with providing interesting background info about the cartoons lately, even to the point where they mentioned Friz Freleng's name multiple times throughout today's episode.

It's Nice to Have a Mouse Around the House restored preview for Monday's episode.

From reading the schedule, it looks like they're full force with just Popeye for at least the next two Saturday blocks. I didn't notice any Betty cartoons listed.

Little Wise Quacker aired with an HD transfer today. Same technical issues as most of the other new MGM transfers, though the colors on this one look pretty decent. Blackface gag was edited out.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken (certainly possible), Tops with Pops may be the single Tom and Jerry that runs on Boomerang in its full unaltered Cinemascope aspect ratio.

Wow, talk about service, MTGM mentioned this yesterday, and Boomerang ran Tops with Pops this morning! Hey MGMT, pick my lottery numbers for me while you're hot!

Looks great, though personally I'd like it if the colors were timed slightly warmer.

As pointed out to me by user S.C. MacPeter, the magic of Photoshop strikes again.

There are supposed to be two separate cards at the end of the opening sequence for this cartoon, one for the producers and a separate one for Friz Freleng's director credit. For whatever reason, the restored version leaves out the second card crediting Freleng as the director and instead just holds on the first one until it fades to black and the actual cartoon starts.

Here's the old transfer:

And here's what aired this morning:

I had a feeling something was missing when I first watched it, so this information really lets me know I wasn't going crazy.

When they introduced this one, they highlighted the fact that they were airing the original black and white version instead of the colorized version from 30 years later, which was honestly pretty funny.

The restored version of Egghead Rides Again has publicly resurfaced. Screenshots for those who haven't seen it yet. Photoshopped titles and awkwardly looped animation of Egghead at the beginning are still present.

I wonder if the looped animation is why it was taken down from HBO Max, and not its content.

The much-anticipated Casanova Cat aired as an unrestored Turner transfer. The maid's appearance and the blackface scene were edited out. It was still great to see this one on TV again (or publicly acknowledged in any capacity).

Next week will be the final time Popeye and Pals gets a full hour to itself. Still disappointed to see it get cut in half to make way for the DFE cartoons.

It's worth noting alongside this that 3 cartoons with Two Shoes in them have been scheduled (but replaced) at one point or another. MeTV appears to have the rights to air these cartoons, but it seems their trying to "dip their toes" into cartoons with this kind of content slowly. A little mixed since I don't quite think it's okay for TV

Looks like Hamateur Night, another removed HBO Max restoration, is airing in 2 weeks. That's probably the best of the cartoons with lost restorations so I'm quite excited

On May 21, they are going to run Those Were Wonderful Days (1934), happy that even though its a mediocere music cartoon, the current print looks VERY bad (like shake your powder puff's old print, except for an extra the movie, the gay divorce) and is sourced from a nickelodion airing, i hope that it airs restored. Theres a very high chance that the end card will be there too.

Plus the day which this cartoon will air on it appers to be a pre 1940s episode (if your wondering how hare and loathing and rushing routlette fit into this criteria, in hare and loathing, casinos were really big back then due to the great depression, while rushing roulette has the piano gag, playing Those beautiful charms). However, this is just my speculation, and it could be just a regular episode

THOSE WERE WONDERFUL DAYS (1934), PROBLEM PAPPY, HARE AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, STAGE DOOR CARTOON, RUSHING ROULETTE (1965)

I didn't start watching this morning's broadcast until halfway through The Man on the Flying Trapeze, so I'm going to assume nothing in the Popeye block was edited for content. Still no Betty Boop cartoons scheduled in the foreseeable future. Really hope she hasn't been given the boot.

The Egg and Jerry aired with the body of the cartoon cropped to 16:9.

Bugs Bunny and the Three Bears aired with the shot of Mama Bear nude in a nightgown edited out. Unsure if this was removed due to time or content.
