NOTE: this is in the "General Discussion" board only because you can mention any sound effect from any era as you wish in this topic.

Anyway, here are some of my favorite animation SFX, in no particular order:
-the Jay Ward clockwork motor (my favorite sound effect of all)
-Bob Clampett's "bayowhoop"
-the robot SFX used in the Gumby short "Robot Rumpus", all of them
-the slide whistle sound used whenever Yukon Cornelius throws his pickaxe in the snow in "Rudolph"
-the Coke bottle "blip" used when the Road Runner sticks out his tongue
-the dreamy vibe effect used in "Crowing Pains" after Sylvester hits Foggy with a hatchet (the stick part, that is!)
-the Disney tire skid
-the Disney "poof!" effect
-the descending space whine effect heard in "Jerry, Jerry Quite Contrary"
-Mel Blanc's painful yells
-the Goofy Holler
-Tom's screams
-the bow twang used by Hanna-Barbera and a few other studios
-the Hanna-Barbera freeze gun
-an airplane sound effect used a couple of times in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!"
-the fluttery slide whistle used quite a bit in SpongeBob

WB Ayeyayyayobbity yobbiy (like whne Bugs plays with Beaky Buzzard's adams apple), in Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid

Hanna-Barber'asd Wheesha weesha weesha etc. that Wiley2005 has said (Big Cartoon Database) has whistle and sound effects (like Fred spinning around his legs, just say the word and you will recognizwe the sound effect!)

Warner's BEyyooopp..Actually said by Bob Clamptt, and Boink (early Sylvester, after hiding, poking his head out from an umbrella in 1947's SCAREDY CAT)

Ward's clink clonk clong clink Super Chicken transformation/Uncle Waldo brainstorm, and their mmmf mmmfff stretching sound (even WB/DFE/Format in the 1965 RoadRunner, Highway Runnery used it; Spiuke Jones and his City Slicker/Ward regular funny soundm,an Joe Siracusa created this)

Art Clokey's Racckkkpop raccckpop as on Gumby,

Famous Studios/Felix the Cat Productions, effect also in GUMBY..a rare case of a soound effect on one shore, East Coast, travelleing West, the computer bleep bleep

Famous's arrow-slinging..Felix the Cat would use it

And the classic Disney/HB Castle Thunder (HB's Pixie/Dixie Mr.Jinks first used that at HB).;Hea vens to Jinksy

Speaking of that Meece short, an effect created at their parent, Columbia Pictures, and in thier sister UPA, a held piano thump first appeared..in th\eir 1958 film BELL BOOK AND CANDLE: Preceded by a long guitar note, then followed in BBC by a chime, p[layed solo in the Jinks/Meece short (where Jinks goes to Heaven, reforms as needed, and the mice think, understandably, that Jinks has flipped), then revived with the preceding guitar twang, as started in Bell Book.. in UPA's DICK TRACY, Mr.Magoo Nights, Gay Purree, and Mr.Magoo tv series, but followed by a held telephone ring sound, which when all wound up in 1966 at HB in all of their fall programming. Still later is a combo explosion/ringing sound. That, and the aforementioned olsd Castle Thunder pop up in Hanna-Barbera in that one 1959 Jinks/Pixie.Dixie cartoon, again, Heavens to Jinksy
    .

Disney/UPA/Hanna-Barbera/WEarner Bros./Simpsons Ride BONG..a heavy metallic sound..it's in Flintstones by season 5-6. CLUNG..

Clokey's weird sliding sound in 1966 for Prickle the yellow dino sliding up..:)

    Disney's famous Wilheim Scream: Yahoooo!!

Famous/Oriolo-Felix's computer-mechica Cough COugh GEEK goo GEE gough Gee (think The Professor's mirage maker at the end when the evil Einstein lookalike's devie goes haywire).

Hanna-Barbera's cat meow like sounds when someone's surprised!

WB's Raaaammmmm! aircraft sound (I only heard it in three 1940s cartoons, Meatless Flyday, Hare Do, and A Hick, A Slick, and a Chick.)

-The explosion sound Howard Fein once called a "two-pronged explosion" (PAWHAP-PAWHOW!)

Originated with Paramount's original pre-Tom Cruise/Dakota Fanning WAR OF THE WORLDS, 1953:
    Space Ghosts's laser ray.

Originated with Columbia's (HB's distributer then!) 1958 classic BELL, BOOK, and CANDLE:
The gas street lamp's 15 second guitar up-slide, then pianos POUNDED..here followed by a chime but adapted by UPA in MR.MAGOO's ARABIANB KNIGHTS< GAY PUREE, while H-B tried the piano sound in the 1959 Jinks/Meeces short, HEAVENS TO JINKSY about Jnks going to heaven. It plays when Jinks is there. THe whole "medley" of these would start to appear in 1966 at UPA in their SPACE GHOST, LAUREL AND HARDY,etc.films for magic, and eventually became the WONDER TWINS's icoic POWERS ACTIVATE sound..even those Robert Smigel cartoons spoofing them on SNL uses it!

The several cat Meows..Clokey used one before HB.

I know that one, but it was used there? Filmation used it to. Went back to to the 1950s, early Gumby shorts (Trapped on the Moon), UPA and the Seven Arts WB cartoons (IIRC)>

A Hanna-Barbera BOINK in Paramount and Hal Seeger;s 1963 MUGGY DOO: BOY PEST along with some Famous effects. Famous and another "famous" NY studio, Total Television, used a remixed couple of Hanna_Barbera coming and down and falling and tkaing sounds (opening of Casper's 1960s show uses this..)

    Finally
    FAMOUS/PARAMOUNT/SEEGER/ORIOLO
    Spriong (dexcribed)
A crazy chicken cry, originated in a 1930s caroton animation vocal, sued on Famous and Felix shorts.
A Coo Coo effect used in Famous stdios.
A Keeek GGAGAQGA KEEK< that's like the clockwork sound at Jay Ward, used in the Felix series "Professor's" contraptions
    THe magic bag's effect.

Disney's "screeching tires" sound effect was not limited to their cartoons. It was also used in live action features like The Shaggy Dog and (not surprisingly) The Love Bug. (The "car engine" sound effect in "Aquamania" is also heard in The Love Bug.)
