WB:
-Their various bullet ricochets. Those must be the most ubiquitous bullet riccos in the history of sound, even Gene Deitch used a few of them! (Although their copies were very low quality.)
-The jungle bird call
-Their "yelping dog" sound, also frequently used by DFE (e.g the toothbrush in
Pink-In))
-This one police car siren sound effect
-The airplane gearing-up sound oft used for Taz and the Road Runner
-That sound used for Bugs diving into his hole in
Robot Rabbit, also used for the sheep falling into the holes in
Don't Give Up the Sheep-Another airplane sound effect first used in the 50s, heard when Elmer's house ascends after he pushes the "wed button" in
Design for Leaving-The muck bubble effect introduced in the 60s, for some reason labelled "BUBBLE, CARTOON - SKIP'S FLARTLES 02" in the Sound Ideas Hanna-Barbera library.
-Bob Clampett's "bewoop!" and "BOIT!" vocal effects
-Daffy's scream in
Duck Amuck. I think at least one Pink Panther cartoon used it as well.
-The spinning whistle
-The trombone gobble
-The explosion sound ("KA-POW!")
-The dreamy vibes
-That screaming sound introduced in
Boston Quackie-Bea Benedaret's scream. I love how it's used for a train whistle in
Quackie.
