It's not the Puppetoons- those are all in one place, in beautiful original materials.

I'll be interested in the "Willie Whopper" set, and if history serves, the later release of "Flip The Frog" I don't have all your stuff, but what you have released in the past has been great. Keep on a hunting for those long forgotten toons!

And it would be awsome if Steve could get access to the original, or recently restored, Columbia archive material (instead of the always muddy-looking Samba prints). Oh, and we need a Scrappy smiley!

With Willie in the can, more good news from Steve as the Thunderbean team turn their attentions to Flip the Frog, from the Thunderbean Thursday comments:

Some big discoveries yesterday on the Flip the Frog project- 35mm prints of *all* of the ones we only had in 16mm were discovered at an archive overseas- so the Flip set will be all 35mm, with most from the camera neg or MGM’s Fine Grain. VERY excited about that!

What's the status on this set?

And did you manage to snap the elusive print of the Cinecolor/Technicolor version of Flip's Techno-Cracked?

I would love to see the Tom and Jerry stuff on blu someday too. More importantly, I forgot that there are color Flips? Pardon me not really knowing the answer to this question but are Flip films just as awesomely surreal as the Willie stuff. Same kind of crazy gags etc?

So it appears this is coming out next year, according to Steve's latest post on Cartoon Research:

Flip the Frog- likely February 2017

That's what it's looking like here right now. We're producing an animated segment that will be on the disc- more on that soon. 22 of the 38 are either here (Nitrate materials) or transferred. Cubby Bear is basically done now and waiting for funds to be replicated- same goes with transfers of the next batch of Flips. Article on Cartoon Research will be about Flip this week...

Glad you like it- we're finally catching up with everything here happily. The Halloween set has started going out this week (a majority of them going tomorrow) and 'The end of the reel' is done as well!

I can't wait to get the rest of Flip finished. It's really great to see material that looks this good- I'm just happy I'm able to help get the best versions available of these films. The hardest thing is juggling everything- I'm not great at that- but getting a little better I think! We'll have about 30 of them transferred in the next month or so, and about 20 are cleaned up as of now of the 38 in the series. Still trying to find the few color elements and hoping they'll show up- we thought we had them from BFI, but it turned out they were only tinted sadly....

The Flip the Frog set is the longest in progress currently; We're working hard to get the collection finished this summer, along with many other projects. Stay tuned here for updates as well as on cartoonresearch.com

Thanks all for your patience with all these things!
