Reviews and Comments

From Patrick Malone :

This time around, we get to see more character development in Daisy. Last week, in Purple Pluto we got to see more of Minnie and a little bit more here. The only problem is with her animation; especially in her facial expressions she comes across as simply Mickey with a bow in her hair. Daisy, in the classic shorts, never had much of a personality anyway, so it's almost as if their mining new ground here. Originally she spanned the gamut from a female Donald (in Don Donald) to a Southern Belle role in later the shorts. (But she was always a heck of a dancer, a talent they should make more use of if they pair her with Donald again.) Here, she comes across as just an annoying twit and you can't really understand how her and Minnie were friends at the end of it all. Apparently, the writers couldn't either as there was no continuous development in this short from annoyance to friendship, and they had to throw in a subplot with an escaped Lion to fill out the short. For me, this subplot didn't seem to mesh well into a complete whole and seemed pasted on.

From J. D. Weil :

A Daisy Duck Cartoon for a change; In this one Minnie wants to spend a quiet evening at home with Figaro (but who wants to see that?) so Daisy drops in as an uninvitied guest. Throw in in an escaped lion into the mix and guess what? Surprisingly this does work. I thought this was going to be a dull sitcom talkfest but it sure turned out a lot different.

From Juan F. Lara :

I couldn't believe how much of a jerk they made Daisy in this cartoon. That "Minnie!", "Yes, Daisy?!" scene wasn't funny. It just made Daisy more and more unlikeable. And the cliche of her leaving the water running only made her look incredibly dumb. Then from out of nowhere the makers threw in a lion, like they couldn't think of what else to do for the second half.

From Tom :

It sounded pretty lame, and it was pretty lame. However it was slightly better then I thought it was going to be. I only like Daisy being annoying when it's at Donald's cost. If Minnie had just spent a night a home with Figaro, she might have had some pregression in the personality department.

From Lee Suggs :

A fun short that allows Minnie's character to develop further. Its good to see Minnie trying to save herself instead of waiting for Mickey. Hopefully the strengthing of Minnie's character will continue.

From Jesus Daprice :

This cartoon was absolutely funny especially the scene where Minnie is being chased by the escaped lion and Daisy just sits on the sofa eating popcorn and watching TV.

From Disney Fan :

I thought Daisy was a bit of a jerk in this cartoon, how she replaced all Minnie's stuff with her own, always calling Minnie, changing the channel on her, etc. But anyway, it was a pretty good short (sort of.)
