Synopsis

A bear wakes up from hibernation to find out a factory was built on top of his cave. The staff don't see him as a bear, instead seeing him as a "silly man who needs a shave and wears a fur coat", so the bear goes up the branches to prove that he is in fact a bear.

Towards the end when all the president and his lesser men shake hands for sending the bear to work, the foreman's sleeve is painted gray (like the presidents' suits) instead of white to match his coat.

Milestones

The final Golden Age theatrical short released by MGM. They would soon close their animation department in 1970.

Trivia

Based off the 1946 book of the same name by veteran Looney Tunes director, Frank Tashlin
Frank Tashlin was credited as a producer by Chuck Jones so if the film won an Academy Award it would go to Tashlin, regardless of the fact that he had no involvement with the finished product. Tashlin was not pleased with the end result of the film, feeling it didn't properly represent his original source material.
