In "Porky's Hero Agency", at 6:04, the Gorgon kisses Porky and says "Can you taste the difference?" Is that a reference to an old ad slogan? It feels like something a cigarette company would say but I wasn't able to find anything in my research.

Looks like the Gorgon is a parody of Lizzie Tish. Maybe it was one of her catchphrases.

Hmm, maybe. I listened to some random "Al Pearce and His Gang" sketches from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw5LEmtj0Y0  , but the character's catchphrase in those seems to be "Are you? Or aren't you?" (and variants thereof)

It might be Chesterfield's. They used a "taste the difference" slogan in the '30s and they advertised nationally on radio.
