Possible cut in "Wholly Smoke"? - Forum.

So in Frank Tashlin's last Looney Tune he made before 1943, there seems to be some sort of possible cut made before release. Check out Porky holding his hat after the bully says "Do you wanna fight?" There's an abrupt transition to the next scene of the bully smoking, plus what seems to be a tail-end of a musical cue.

I don't think this is Frank Tashlin's style of directing at work. Do you think there is a cut here?

Oddly enough, I just watched this short the other day and realized something else. During the final montage in the smoke shop (right before Porky wakes up from his nightmare), you can see extra footage of the pipe cleaner who becomes a Cab Calloway caricature than is seen during the musical number.
