I'm currently watching Mickey's Trailer......and it looks like they showed it with a more "original" series title slate! The version I watched on Facebook looked like it had another short's series card spliced into it, so this was a pleasant surprise.

What was also a pleasant surprise was the fact they're actually showing the classic shorts on television again - does anyone here wish Disney Channel was able to do the same thing now and also that these shorts were available on Blu-ray?

I agree, and I wish they get rid of the sitcoms

both In Search of the Castaways (1962), Family Band (1968) and Natty Gann (1985) are in widescreen

As Natty Gann is on TCM I now share something from my Art of Prydain Tumblr blog:
https://art-ofprydain.tu...dron-ost-09-finale#notes

The Black Cauldron is not the only Disney film that Elmer Bernstein did music for. The 2nd Disney film he did was The Journey of Natty Gann (1985) which was rejected in favor of a new score by James Horner.

here is a YouTube link to the music track from Elmer’s rejected score for Disney’s The Journey of Natty Gann

Natty Gann will be on Turner Classic Movies March 30th (early in the morning)

Elmer’s rejected score can be purchased here

and here Elmer's music score for The Black Cauldron can be purchased here

I blame "It's a Laugh!" for those shows. Very poor writers there.

I kinda agree. For some reason, "Mickey's Trailer" looked a bit...off.

I agree, I could barely care less about their schlock.

Even if this is a "Treasures from the Disney Vault" thread, I still can't believe the Disney Channel still relies on their crappy "kid-coms" and their lopsided Mickey Mouse cartoons to pull in ratings. If they really wanted to do that, they should resume airing the real classic cartoons and, to a lower extent, their library of "retro" television shows. Part of the reason the initial waves of the Walt Disney Treasures DVDs sold well despite their limited quantity run was because both the shorts and shows that would later be included there were doing extremely well on the "Vault Disney" block, which would unfortunately be cancelled not long after the first wave came out.

I don't want to sound stern or rude, but can you please keep the conversation on the topic of Disney programs on TCM? Thank you.

The last post was talking about "It's a Laugh!" (the production company), not Have a Laugh!. As flawed as that was, at least it gave modern viewers a taste of the classic shorts (even if they were cut down for time).

Let's get back on topic, shall we?

schedule change in the TCM's Treasures from The Disney Vault program

Disney's The Biscuit Eater (1972) got replaced by RKO's Banjo (1947)

Not sure why they changed that.

Also, my DVR didn't record "Pluto's Purchase" which was preceded by the introduction to "Big Red". I enjoyed these introduction and I was wondering where I can introduction online or if anyone here can at least do a transcript of it here. I would really appreciate it.

The next Treasures from the Disney Vault is scheduled for October 15th. We don't know the full schedule, but The Black Hole (1979) is coming on at 12:15am.

I really miss the Treasures DVD releases, although had they continued I guess it would have played out by now. I'm so glad we can still get these on TCM!!

Here's the majority of the schedule (for whatever reason, the movie at 2AM isn't listed yet) :) (all times Eastern):

*8PM - Magician Mickey (1937)/Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971)
*10:15PM - The Little Whirlwind (1941)/Flight of the Navigator (1986)
*12:15AM - The Black Hole (1979)
*2AM - Pluto's Sweater (1949)/The Cat From Outer Space (1978) <----thanks to ToonStar95 for the info regarding the main feature! :)
*4AM - The Last Flight of Noah's Ark (1980)

Interesting list. Nice to see "Flight of the Navigator" on there. It's one of those films that I haven't seen in years, yet it's still fresh in my mind. Plus, a Felix doll is shown in one scene (surpassingly, not a Mickey doll).

The 2:00AM feature after Pluto's Sweater is The Cat from Outer Space (1978).
