Here's the description:

"Jerry's first 2018 visit will include his comments on the recent animation winners at the Oscars, his review of "Sherlock Gnomes", thoughts on upcoming features including "Wreck it Ralph 2" and "The Incredibles 2", the new Muppet Babies CGI series on Disney Junior, new books ("Calvin and the Colonel"), and the latest in streaming and home video. Plus he'll screen three classic cartoons and provide commentary on each, as well as answer your questions via e-mail!"

The question is, will they show that controversial cartoon that they skipped last summer and again in December? We'll find out by March 21st.

I believe that on last summers broadcast of the Stu Show, it was mentioned that the short was a Terrytoon from 1941 but i'm not sure if it was actually said in the broadcast itself or if my memory is starting to become hazy.

The short that was going to be shown in summer 2017 (and again in December 2017) was "Mississippi Swing".

Today is the day to get your e-mails in for the show, be brief and to the point so he can read them in the final segment of the show.

We are indeed on, and Stu is recovering from his illness. Hope he will feel better in the weeks to come.

The Terrytoons are CAVIAR, THE BANKER'S DAUGHTER and PINK ELEPHANTS.
Paramount have apparently paid to get them scanned digitally, while UCLA will strike new 35mm preservation elements.
Scheduled for restoration will be more Fleischer and George Pal Puppetoons (no specific titles given)

More restorations of Fleischer AND Puppetoons on our way with Jerry Beck behind it!

Jerry's now talking about the recently found UPA cartoon; Brick and Brack in Brick's Stew.

And something interesting; the 3 non-Columbia Magoo cartoons that were released theatrically and then TV had more footage in the theatrical counterparts!

Kickstarter for Puppetoons restorations also coming up.

If anyone cares, I have a modern Super 8 reduction of the theatrical version of MAGOO MEETS FRANKENSTEIN supposedly off a 35mm IB Tech. You're not missing much in those 2 extra minutes.

Also More Stop Motion Marvels.

Thunderbean stuff:

Scanning of the Flip the Frog elements close to being done
Comi-Colors begun scanning, original negs (which were not shot Successive Exposure) exists on all except the early titles and appear to have not been touched since the 40s
The Jam Handy Nicky Nome shorts exist in 35mm Technicolor prints, some in original negs, will be on the More Technicolor Dreams set.
Rainbow Parades begun scanning mostly off 35mm Master prints struck in the '40s
More Stop Motion Marvels finished scanning, in digital restoration

No news on any other projects (including as Stu pointed out Mr. Bug amd Felix)

And aside from Criterion's KING OF JAZZ and "top-secret" stuff Jerry cannot talk about, no other home video news (for the guys that only care about that stuff on these shows)

Good news tonight! Porky 101 JUST made a profit, they're now going to look into the future, AND there will never be another Archive animation release again (let me finish!) with unrestored transfers! :D

Will be a long time before he returns on the program again - December 19th is when he will return because of his busy schedule.

So, in other words, anything the Archive puts out will be fully restored from now on?

Nothing mentioned on the show. Unless that was what Jerry was winking at during the show.

I didn't listen carefully enough but since there are 9th months until Jerry Beck's next Stu Show appearance that at somepoint he will call in to stu show with some annoncement about something. Even if Stu is having other guests talking about someething else than Animation.

For those that missed it, the three shorts Jerry showed were:

"Jim and Judy In Teleland: The Kangaroo Boxing Match" (1949)

Frank Tashlin's Daffy Ditties short, "The Lady Said No" (1946)

and the Terrytoon, "Mississippi Swing" (1941).

By the way, in case anyone wants to know more about "Jim and Judy In Teleland", you can look at the brand new page on the recently re-launched Toon Tracker!*

*I was meaning to make a new thread about the return of this famous site but was too lazy to do it.

That's good! I can't wait to see their future LT releases on DVD and/or Blu Ray once they announce them in the future.
