This isn't a Cartoon Discussion of the Week so I moved it to TTTP in Exile. Unfortunately, I screwed up and moved it to a different thread, deleting the original title of the thread! OP, feel free to rename the thread to what it was originally called, and sorry for the inconvenience caused by my little boo-boo.

Back on-topic, what led you to believe that some negatives still survive?

I wasn't necessarily "led to believe" that some negatives still survive. I do, however, feel that this is fairly open to debate because I've read so many claims supporting and contradicting the claim that all of the negs were destroyed, that I don't know who to believe.

What I do find interesting, conversely, is that even with the original material lost, private copies of several early Tom and Jerry entries with their original titles intact have supposedly turned up.
