This covers multiple animation topics, so I decided to post it in the general forum.

Boomerang is launching a new paid streaming service separate from their TV channel. Their website boasts that one will soon be able to watch such classics as Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Popeye, and various Hanna-Barbara cartoons such as the Flintstones, the Jetsons, and the Smurfs. Plus, new shows such as Be Cool, Scooby-Doo, Bunnicula, and New Looney Tunes will be available via the streaming service. All of the clips on the main page look nice, save for the Flintstones, Jetsons, Smurfs, and Popeye ones, which look like upscaled standard-definition transfers.

According to the app’s FAQ, the app will launch in the spring. The subscription will cost $4.99 a month or $39.99 per year. Unfortunately, the app won’t launch anywhere outside of the United States.

Here's a trailer for the service. The toon clips look pretty dang good.

Anyway, the upcoming Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz and the Wacky Races reboot will be exclusive to the service.

It's a good idea, but lets hope it will gain more viewers in order to boost up the ratings. At least it will have many of the classics that have been off the air since. Like Popeye, MGM cartoons (beside Tom & Jerry), and the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

Looks good so far.

By the way, the "Wacky Races" reboot won't be anything like the terrible current DC comic series, will it? I really think Diablo should be fired for this and other reasons.
