One thing I've been wondering for awhile and haven't been able to find any clear answers to are if the made-for-TV shorts Duck Dodgers and the Return of the 24 1/2th Century and Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers were intended to be made-for-TV or were they intended for a theatrical release only to debut as part of television specials?

One thing about both is that they debuted in compilation specials, while all of the other made-for-TV cartoons debuted in specials that were exclusively new shorts/footage. Another thing is that when these two are shown on television, they are often shown with the classic Warner Bros. opening and closing, while most of the others are shown without the opening or closing (instead just starting with the title card or sequence).

Well I did read that Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers was intended for theatrical release but eventually aired as part of the television special Bugs Bunny's Creature Features instead. So you are right on this short.

Not sure about Duck Dodgers and the Return of the 24 1/2th Century, but there's no information on if the short was intended for a theatrical release, or was made exclusively for TV.

One thing has hit me about both shorts, which might just be coincidence, but both shorts are longer than the average short. Of course, whenever Duck Dodgers and the Return of the 24 1/2th Century is shown outside the special (even on home video), it's shortened, while Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers is always shown in its full form (with the exception of its inclusion as a bonus feature on a Space Jam DVD release).
